Plans for Future ADC
Hardware
- LHC test bed + HP servers, possibly other manufacturers
- Gigabit Ethernet network. Possibly 10 Gb Eth. backbone
- Possibly new generation of magnetic tapes (~ 30 MB/s, ~ 100 GB/volume)
Software
- DATE V4, new CASTOR version
- Fault tolerance and recovery
Goals:
- Increase performances
- Study key architectural issues: MSS data flow, fabric architecture
- Improve performance reporting tools
- Include HLT trigger functionality
- Involve 1 or 2 regional centers
