• It also needs

  • low latency network interfaces
  • low latency, high valency switching components
  • scalable architectures

• The IEEE1355 technology has been shown to scale appropriately and reliably with very low latency and jitter

• Work is ongoing to exploit this technology in the LAN switching marketplace
