SCI Introduction
The Scalable Coherent Interface (SCI) is an ANSI/ISO/IEEE Standard 1596-1992
to enable smooth system growth with
modular components from many vendors at
1 GByte/second/processor system flux,
distributed shared memory with optional
cache coherence,
message passing mechanisms and
scalable from 1 through 64K processors.
SCI behaves like a bus or a network but uses point-to-point links
to achieve higher speed.
