1 Introduction

1.2 Scope

The ROB-IN is an Input Module whose purpose is to receive and store data coming from a Read-out Driver (ROD) and to pass this data, under the command of a ROB Controller, to an Output Module (ROB-OUT). The ROB-IN, along with the ROB-OUT and ROB Controller is a component of the proto-type Read-out Buffer (ROB) which will be used to test and demonstrate various dataflow and trigger strategies for the ATLAS dataflow system.

It is envisaged that the ROB-IN and ROB-OUT will evolve into a single component in the final system.

The ROB-IN users who set the user requirements are;

  1. The ROD.

  2. The ROB-OUT.

  3. The ROB Controller.
